Stephan Koen is the product of two worlds that, far from being at odds, merge into a single perspective: the analytical precision of northern Europe and the relational warmth of the Mediterranean. Born to a Dutch father and a Spanish mother, he grew up navigating between cultures, languages and ways of understanding the world — an experience that gave him an early and distinctive ability to read people, understand what drives them and connect with them genuinely.
That emotional intelligence is not a complement to his professional career: it is its engine. He began in Corporate Finance at Arthur Andersen — later Deloitte — where he spent ten years leading M&A transactions, buy-outs and strategic advisory work across the Spanish and European mid-market. He then moved to AndosinsCapital, a family office where he managed direct investments across very different sectors: an experience that made him an active investor before returning to advisory work.
In 2012, he co-founded Dextra with Iker Zabalza. He is also co-founder and executive partner of Navis Capital Desarrollo SGEIC, managing investment vehicles in vacation hotels, SMEs and technology, with an aggregate capital volume approaching €200 million. He serves as a board member in companies across various sectors and, since 2026, has been a trustee of the Us Veiem Foundation.
Throughout his career, Stephan has shown that financial rigour and human closeness are not opposites. His ability to understand businesses from the inside — the people, the dynamics, the difficult moments — is what makes him a trusted partner, not just an advisor.
